11 individuals injured in massive blaze at South Korean tire plant

South Korea’s fire authorities reported on Monday that a fire had broken out in a tire factory in the central city of Daejeon, injuring 11 people and receiving medical treatment due to smoke inhalation. For tires and technology, it is expected to start due to the tire forming machine in the north part of the second plant where the flammable materials are stored.

Kim Joon, a fire official, indicated that there is difficulty putting out the fire because the tires are made of flammable materials, noting that nine other helicopters have been packed.

Authorities evacuated residents from nearby apartment buildings due to the fire and ordered other nearby residents to close their windows. Two primary schools close to the factory have also been closed and the classes of a nearby secondary school have been converted to distance learning.

The fire also caused disruption to transportation, including rail services near the factory and highway traffic, and KTX high-speed trains began operating again.
