The Saudi Chess Federation has announced the holding of the Kingdom’s Chess Championship, from November 30 to December 4, at the headquarters of the Saudi Paralympic Committee in Riyadh under the supervision of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). The tournament, which will be judged by a team of Saudi referees who have won international titles, will see the competition of 184 players, from all regions of the Kingdom for a period of 5 days, and through 7 rounds of “classic chess”, for obtain the title of champion in two main categories: the male category and the female category.
The competition will be in the men’s category for the championship title, and the seizure of one of the five cards that entitle you to run for the initial list of the Saudi chess team, and the formation of the initial list of “chess green” for seniors and groups. The Saudi Chess Federation has invited women from across the Kingdom to participate in this tournament, where their participation will contribute to the formation of the first Saudi women’s chess team.
