An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck the province of Antofagasta in northern Chile today.
The US Geological Survey said in a note that the epicenter of the earthquake was 13 km from the city of Calama in the region, at a depth of 109.0 km, noting that there are no reports of material or human damage as a result of the quake so far.
