5.6 magnitude earthquake hits Japan

An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Fukushima prefecture in northeastern Japan today, but no tsunami warning has been issued.
The Japanese Meteorological Agency said the earthquake’s epicenter occurred off the coast of Fukushima prefecture, at a depth of 60 km, noting that so far there have been no reports of human or material losses as a result of the earthquake.
