EA Originals presents an entertaining co-op game called It Takes Two this March. Now that you’ve been given the opportunity to test it out early on, there are a few things you should know before diving into the world of adventure.
When it comes to playing co-op, there can be either two options: very good or absolutely terrible. In the case of two of our authors, Lauren Bergin and Ava Thompson-PowellFortunately it was a little more swimming than expected.
As you travel through the colorful, Pixar-inspired universe of It Takes Two, you can do everything from navigating the basement with random household tools to being partisans in a war between wasps and squirrels. If anything is a friendship test, this is it!
Before you sign up for your own mind-boggling trip to It Takes Two, we have a few tips on how to explore a highly unpredictable place. When it kicks off on March 26, 2021, you too can grab a friend and jump on that wild ride yourself!
If you fail, don’t give up! Try and try again
One thing that you should know right away is that this game is difficult to play. It’s not so frustrating, however, that you want to throw your controller off a nearby wall (or from your gaming partner).

While the trails you endure as May and Cody can be devilish, the game’s quirky style and positive vibes make it difficult to ever get really mad.
Where you fail, your partner can pick you up – that’s the joy of playing co-op. Can’t handle a certain challenge? Chat with each other to get a different perspective. Two heads are better than one, and It Takes Two really promotes that.
Never trust squirrels
Foxes have a reputation for being smart, but the squirrels are even worse in this game! Right at the beginning of Chapter 2, we suspected that these sneaky little rodents were up to something, and we were right.
From overt theft to attack, the mischievous forest animals commit every crime in the book. At the end of It Takes Two’s forest level, you won’t see any more squirrels!
So if you don’t make anything else out of it, keep an eye on them. The squirrels are always on their guard, watching and waiting for their next move.
Save the bumblebees!
It’s hardly a secret that bees are an integral part of the human network of life, but It Takes Two shows this in a way that is equally subtle and beautiful.
When you meet the chubby little creature, it tells you that it just wants to be special. After an inspiring speech by Cody, the fluffy insect realizes the true power it possesses in nature’s vast insect kingdom and flies confidently into the sunset.
She leaves you at the mercy of the squirrels, however, so there is. The message remains, however! Save the bumblebees, folks, because if you don’t then we all know what’s going on.
Vacuum cleaners are serial killers
Undoubtedly, over the years, you’ve likely had a pet scared of your vacuum cleaner. While we usually write it off with the loud noise and insane vibrations of the mechanical threat, it turns out that our animal companions may be into something.
If you were wondering if this game has bosses that are hard to beat, the vacuum was definitely the most terrifying. With a thirst for revenge that cannot be quenched, the vacuum cleaner proved to be a formidable opponent both for our dynamic virtual duo and for the supposed professional players behind the controller.
While it comes to a pretty unfortunate ending, it’s safe to say that vacuum cleaners really are the scariest home appliance out there. Step aside, microwave, there’s a new bad guy in town.
Your hands are about to sweat
Sure, it takes two looks like a simple co-op game, but in reality it’s anything but. When you’re forced to navigate a series of complex puzzles that can help you rethink what your household items look like, it’s time to screw your gaming head on.

Not only that, the title is quite a wild ride. Make sure you have some tissues on hand as you will likely be sweating. Boss fights are exciting, flying and driving challenges are a bit stressful, and the mini-challenges pit you against each other in fun battles for supremacy.
It Takes Two combines fun with intense gameplay and is a perfect mix for noobs and professional gamers.
This is unique
During the preview livestream of It Takes Two, Hazelight Studios founder Josef Fares challenged us to find a game that resembled It Takes Two in some way.
In fact, he was so confident he made a promise to anyone who got bored of $ 1,000. While it’s a pretty bold statement, it holds true. We have never seen anything like it.
The title combines beautiful environments with innovative storytelling that is really reminiscent of the romantic comedy genre and is truly unique.
So grab a friend and get ready for the wildest co-op journey of 2021. You won’t be disappointed based on everything we’ve seen so far.
Two versions for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 will be released on March 26, 2021.
