On January 16, 2019, the recording sessions for Revenge of the Dreamers III covered in Atlanta. The J. Cole-led Dreamville Records invited numerous artists and producers to help craft the collection LP that would go on to be dropped on July 5 of that year. Last night (January 16), Dreamville Records launched the deluxe edition, Vengeance of the Dreamers III: Director’s Cut It adds 12 more tracks to bring the total to a tremendous 30.
Vengeance of the Dreamers III: Director’s Cut is all of Dreamville’s program– plus a couple of guests. It features brand-new contributions from almost everyone involved, conserve for Cole himself. Ari Lennox takes the listener through an attractive night in “Bussit,” and 6lack signs up with Dreamville rap artists J.I.D and Lute to spit his own tongue-twisting verse.
Elsewhere, Vince Staples, Smino, Pal, and more turn up and bring their diverse styles to a currently wide-ranging project next to other Dreamville rappers like Bachelor’s degrees and Cozz.
Revenge of the Dreamers III debuted at the top of the Signboard 200 in its first week and has since gone gold. “Middle Kid,” its lead single by J. Cole, ended up being the rapper’s greatest charting tune by reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot100 The LP is chosen for Finest Rap Album at the 62 nd Grammy Awards that will happen on January 26.
