A gripping psychological thriller just hit Netflix, and it’s set to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Titled Wall to Wall, the film premiered on July 18 and stars the acclaimed Kang Ha-neul, known for his role as Player 388 in the blockbuster series Squid Game.
Having captivated audiences in the second and third seasons of Squid Game, Kang is also recognized for his stellar performances in dramas like When the Camellia Blooms. In Wall to Wall, he plays No Woo-sung, a Seoul homeowner whose dream house becomes a nightmare. This story promises to take viewers on a rollercoaster of emotions as peril creeps into an otherwise idyllic venture.
The Korean title, ’84 Square Meter,’ reflects the typical apartment size in South Korea, perfectly setting the stage for this domestic drama. The teaser hints at underlying tensions, depicting hope marred by strange disturbances. Netflix describes the film as a “dark and suspenseful” tale, where eerie sounds invade the protagonist’s nights, pushing him toward despair.
The early reviews are effusive. One viewer remarked, “Wall to Wall completely captivated me. I loved how the film embraced silence, space, and subtle emotion.” The sentiment goes on to highlight the film’s exploration of loneliness and human connection, emphasizing comfort in confined spaces.
Another audience member added, “This movie was enjoyable from beginning to end; I don’t think there were any boring parts. It definitely had thriller vibes, reminiscent of Strangers From Hell (2019). The main character kept you on your toes with every decision he made.”
A third reviewer couldn’t hide their excitement, stating, “Love this movie! It’s intense! The flow of the story is brilliant. Kudos to all the actors, especially the main cast.” They specifically praised Kang Ha-neul, saying, “The man with the tattoo… he’s superb at acting. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions.”
