Borderlands 4 for Switch 2 Launching Sooner Than Expected

Borderlands 4: Switch 2 Release Confirmed for Early October

Gearbox just dropped a thrilling announcement: the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4 will land sooner than expected, hitting the shelves on October 3. That’s just three weeks after its debut on PS5, Xbox, and PC!

In a lively video on social media, CEO Randy Pitchford made it clear that fans won’t need to wait long. Originally slated for release “before the end of the year,” the Switch 2 version is now set to arrive far in advance of the holiday rush.

“It’s not next year, it’s not even the Holidays, it’s so much before Christmas, it’s so much before Thanksgiving,” Pitchford stated, building excitement ahead of the launch.

Shifting Release Dates and Pricing

Last month, Gearbox surprised players by bumping up the release date for Borderlands 4 on other platforms from September 23 to September 12. This demonstrates their commitment to delivering the game to fans looking forward to this installment.

The studio also revealed the pricing structure for the game. The standard edition will set players back $70, while a $130 ‘Super Deluxe Edition’ offers bonus items and DLC. For collectors, there’s a $150 edition, intriguingly, that doesn’t include the game itself.

What Fans Can Expect

Amid the excitement, fans are eager to see how Borderlands 4 will evolve the franchise. “What has remained consistent from 2009 is that Gearbox’s gunplay is excellent,” we’ve noted previously. However, opinions vary, especially after Borderlands 3 left some players divided.

From what’s been revealed so far, Borderlands 4 aims to rekindle the magic that drew fans in originally, making a strong case for gamers to return to the wasteland.
