Battlefield 6 just dropped a bombshell for multiplayer enthusiasts. DICE has confirmed that the game will leverage bots to fill empty slots in multiplayer lobbies, ensuring no player is left in the dust.
This revelation came during a multiplayer reveal event in Hong Kong, where development director Anna Narrevi emphasized that the core principle at DICE is to connect as many players as possible. However, when the human player count falls short, bots will step in to keep the action alive.
What to Expect in Battlefield 6
As fans gear up for the highly anticipated release on October 10, it’s worth noting that the game will launch with nine maps. Among these is Operation Firestorm, a nod to longtime fans as it returns from Battlefield 3.
Excitement is already building around the Battlefield 6 open beta, set to kick off this week across platforms like PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app. Players will get a taste of four multiplayer maps—Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, Iberian Offensive, and Empire State—featuring game modes like Conquest, Closed Weapons Breakthrough, and Breakthrough.
Further boosting player engagement, Narrevi mentioned that DICE plans to roll out regular quarterly updates. Fans can look forward to classic multiplayer maps making a comeback, contingent on player demand.
