Apple’s iPhone users often find themselves scrolling through the recent calls tab to locate voicemails or remember past conversations. But with the arrival of iOS 18 in 2024, one key feature changes how we navigate this sea of information.
This update introduced a search bar in the Phone app, allowing users to quickly sift through their call history and voicemails. Gone are the days of endlessly scrolling through a long list of calls; now, you can locate what you need with just a few taps.
Here’s a closer look at how this search function works in your iPhone’s Recents tab.
Can I search recent calls on my iPhone?
Absolutely! With iOS 18, the process is simple. Just open the Phone app and tap on Recents at the bottom of the screen. At the top, you’ll see a search bar that enables you to explore both Calls and Voicemails. Each section provides an option to See All, making it easy to navigate your history.
Typing in a contact’s name, number, or even dates significantly narrows down your search results. For instance, entering “mom” displays all calls and voicemails from your mother, along with her contact card. Likewise, inputting “August” or “July” will filter the list to show calls and voicemails from those specific months.
If you need even more precision, entering a specific date, like “July 5,” will yield results just for that day. This feature can be a real game-changer for those who frequently manage a busy schedule or receive numerous calls.
