The call recording feature is particularly beneficial for professionals who use their iPhones for business purposes or those who want to keep a record of important conversations. Once a call is recorded, it is saved directly to your device, allowing you to listen to it later or review the transcript.
Recording Calls on Your iPhone: A Quick Guide
Recording a phone call on your iPhone is straightforward. While on a call, simply tap the soundbar icon located in the top left corner of your screen, followed by the recording button. You’ll hear a three-second countdown and a message notifying both parties that the call is being recorded.
You can stop the recording at any moment by either hanging up or tapping the Stop button. After stopping the recording, an automated voice confirms that the call is no longer being recorded, letting you resume your conversation freely.
Accessing Your Call Recordings and Transcripts
Once you’ve recorded a call, you can find it in the Notes app, automatically labeled as “Call Recording.” You have the option to rename it, just like any other note. To listen, tap the note and hit the Play button. You can manage playback just like you would with music or podcasts, allowing for easy navigation through the call.
For those wanting to view the transcript, simply tap Transcript below the Play button, which opens it in full-screen mode. If you prefer to have the transcript within the note itself, use the three dots (…) in the top right corner to transfer it. This feature enables you to scroll through the text while listening to the recording simultaneously.
Although the transcript may sometimes be glitchy, temporarily disappearing and reappearing, transferring it to the note can offer a smoother user experience. You can also use the search feature by selecting Find in Note within the transcript view to quickly locate specific information.
