HBO Confirms The White Lotus Season 4 Will Premiere in Early 2027

Production is underway for the fourth season of the hit anthology series, The White Lotus. Following the conclusion of the show’s third season in April 2025, work has commenced on the next installment of Mike White’s acclaimed series.

According to official schedules, production began in April 2026 and is expected to conclude in October 2026. This timeline follows the development process of the new season, coming after the finale of Season 3.

A Dual-Hotel Setting in the French Riviera

Breaking from the series’ tradition of centering the drama around a single resort, Season 4 will take place in the French Riviera and will reportedly feature two distinct White Lotus properties: the White Lotus du Cap and the White Lotus Cannes. This “two-hotel” structure allows the series to explore multiple facets of the region’s elite social circles.

The plot is expected to coincide with the Cannes Film Festival, shifting the narrative focus toward themes of celebrity, fame, and the high-stakes world of international cinema. Filming locations include the Airelles Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez and the Hôtel Martinez in Cannes, providing a luxury backdrop for the upcoming season.

Cast and Creative Changes

The upcoming season features a star-studded ensemble cast, including Helena Bonham Carter, Chris Messina, Steve Coogan, Alexander Ludwig, and AJ Michalka. While the series is known for its revolving door of characters, rumors have persisted regarding potential returns from previous seasons, though no returning actors have been officially confirmed for this installment yet.

Behind the scenes, the series is undergoing a significant creative shift. Original series composer Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, whose distinctive scores became a hallmark of the show’s identity, will reportedly not return for Season 4. His departure is attributed to creative differences as the show moves into its fourth chapter.

This production break also allowed creator Mike White to participate in Survivor 50, a notable hiatus given his long-standing history with the reality franchise. With Season 3 having concluded its run on April 6, 2025, the production timeline ensures the team has ample time to capture the specific seasonal atmosphere of the French coast during its peak festival months.
