Control Resonant Launching September 24 With Dylan Faden as Protagonist

Remedy Entertainment is in the final phase of its marketing push for its next major title, Control Resonant, scheduled for release on September 24, 2026.

Unlike the 2019 original, which was largely confined to the shifting corridors of the Oldest House, Control Resonant takes place in a “warped Manhattan” that has been altered by paranatural forces.

The High Stakes of Remedy’s Marketing Pivot

The scale of the marketing push reflects a significant financial commitment from Remedy Entertainment. According to the company’s Q2 2026 financial reports, revenue fell 40% to €10.2 million during the quarter. This dip is attributed to aggressive marketing spending intended to ensure the sequel’s success. This strategy appears to be gaining traction with the audience; as of August 2026, Control Resonant has surpassed 1.5 million wishlists across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

This release marks a major milestone under the leadership of Jean-Charles Gaudechon, who took over as CEO of Remedy Entertainment in March 2026. The shift in setting is accompanied by a change in perspective, as Dylan Faden steps into the role of the primary playable protagonist. While Jesse Faden remains a central figure in the lore, the gameplay focus has shifted toward Dylan.

Expanding the Control Universe

The transition from a “Metroidvania” style office building to the streets of New York represents a narrative shift that Remedy has been building toward since the conclusion of the first game’s expansions. The studio is mirroring the game’s internal plot, where the secrecy of the Bureau is compromised by the scale of the Manhattan event.

Fans can expect Control Resonant to lean further into its RPG elements while maintaining the surrealist atmosphere that defined its predecessor. With the launch less than a month away, the title serves as both a lore primer and a demonstration of the studio’s attempt to turn the Control franchise into a premier global IP.
