The update, labeled as version 01.300.300 on PlayStation 5, 1.3.3 on PC, and 1.3.3.0 on Xbox Series X/S, introduces significant health and stun adjustments for enemies across reality-warping Manhattan.
PC Full Re-download Warning
While the update serves as a hotfix, PC players on Steam face a substantial technical hurdle. Due to specific platform mechanisms triggered by the patch, Insider Gaming reports that users are required to re-download the entire game rather than a standard patch file. This results in a download size of approximately 92-104 GB depending on local files.
Enemy and Boss Balancing
The primary focus of this update is addressing “damage sponge” complaints during the opening hours of Dylan Faden’s journey. Changes to enemy scaling include:
- Health Reductions: Base health has been lowered for most standard enemies and two specific bosses: the Dancer and the Deserter.
- Falter Adjustments: The Falter (stun) level requirements have been reduced, making it easier to interrupt enemy attacks and openings.
- Boss Loot: The Artist, identified as the game’s first Resonant boss, now drops two Reset Items upon defeat instead of one.
Character Strength and UI Updates
To improve the late-game power fantasy, the update increases the maximum caps for Aberrant Strength and Ability Strength. These caps follow a revised curve that provides more significant statistical boosts toward the end of the upgrade path. The user interface has been updated to reflect these mechanics more clearly:
- Aberrant Strength: English UI descriptions now explicitly state “Damage and Falter X%.”
- Build Power: Descriptions now clearly list Combat Abilities and Aberrant forms/upgrades to help players track their progression.
Respeccing System Improvements
Remedy has made it easier for players to experiment with different builds by permanently reducing the cost of respeccing Dylan’s abilities. To support this change, vendor stock for Reset Items has been increased, ensuring players have more frequent access to build-altering tools throughout the campaign.
