WoW: Forever Player Releases Addon to Filter Asmongold’s Olympus Guild Members

A player known as Solastro has released a new modification for the World of Warcraft: Forever beta designed to isolate the massive presence of streamer Asmongold’s guild federation. The tool, named OlympusMute, was created to address the “Olympus” empire, which currently spans over 30 individual guilds and an estimated 30,000 members.

As the beta for World of Warcraft: Forever progresses toward its official launch on November 4, 2026, the presence of such a large, centralized player base has created friction within the community. According to 404 Media, Solastro developed the addon to address behavior in public chat channels, reporting that the tool was intended to combat members who allegedly spam slurs and hate speech in the game’s shared spaces.

The OlympusMute addon functions as a targeted modification, creating a digital barrier between the user and the streamer’s expansive following.

The “Discrimination” Debate

Asmongold has responded sharply to the creation of the tool, labeling the move as a form of “discrimination.” In a recent broadcast, the streamer characterized the addon as a “hate crime” and compared the exclusion of his fans to “racism,” arguing that the tool unfairly targets a specific community of players. Asmongold maintains that Olympus is an inclusive environment and has dismissed claims that his members are responsible for widespread harassment.

However, other prominent figures in the World of Warcraft community have voiced different perspectives on the guild’s impact. Streamer Sodapoppin recently criticized the Olympus federation, describing its members as “obnoxious” and “spammy.” According to Sportskeeda, Sodapoppin characterized the sheer volume of the group as detrimental to the general server environment, echoing sentiments from players who feel “megaguilds” can overwhelm local ecosystems and social channels.

The technical nature of the mod has sparked a secondary debate regarding Blizzard Entertainment’s policies. While Blizzard typically allows players to maintain personal blacklists or use addons to manage their individual social experiences, community-shared blacklists are often scrutinized if they are deemed to promote systemic exclusion. Because OlympusMute operates on a per-user basis but targets a specific, large-scale organization, it occupies a complex position in the game’s social governance.

World of Warcraft: Forever is positioned as a permanent “Classic+” experience, featuring a level 60 cap and reworked systems. As the game prepares for its full release, the success or suppression of tools like OlympusMute may set a precedent for how the developer manages the influence of high-profile streamers on server health and community interactions.
