Control Resonant Update 1.400.100 (v1.4.1) Restores Movement Mechanics

Remedy Entertainment released the 1.400.100 (v1.4.1) update for Control Resonant on October 2, 2026. The patch is now live across PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, primarily focusing on restoring high-skill movement mechanics while addressing specific quest interactions within the Park area.

Restoration of Dash-Elevate Momentum

The most significant change for veteran players is the restoration of momentum transfer from Dash to Elevate. This mechanic, which allows players to maintain horizontal speed when transitioning into flight, was unintentionally broken in a previous patch. Both Dash and Elevate serve as core movement pillars, and their synergy in Resonant is vital for navigating large-scale encounters.

Combat and Balance Adjustments

While movement has been improved, version 1.4.1 introduces a specific limitation to heavy attacks. Heavy attacks no longer stagger or launch mini-bosses, requiring players to rely more on ability cycling or sustained fire to disrupt powerful enemies. This follows the previous 1.300.300 update, which established the current baseline for enemy health and “Falter” requirements, alongside increased Ability Strength caps for Dylan.

Quest Fixes and Progression Blockers

The update successfully resolves a major hurdle in “The Park Resonant” quest. Players are now able to interact with and eat the required Mold to progress the storyline, a feature that was previously non-functional for many.

However, players should be aware of several Known Issues that may still impede progress following this update:

  • Missing NPC: Underhill is currently missing from the Park area. Since Underhill is a central figure for specific tasks, this can effectively block quest progression for players currently in that zone.
  • Carbon Copy 3: The boss in this questline may fail to become aggressive or may remain entirely invincible depending on the player’s specific quest state.
  • Escort Tasks: Ranger NPCs have been observed failing to follow players during escort objectives, which can prevent the completion of certain side activities.

Players experiencing these blockers in the Park or during the Carbon Copy 3 encounter may need to wait for a subsequent hotfix, as these specific issues remain under investigation following the 1.4.1 deployment.
