Risk of Rain 2 update 1.005 (v1.5) launched on October 8, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This update introduces the Hallowed Concepts expansion content to current-gen consoles, featuring the return of the Enforcer and a new difficulty-scaling mechanic called the Karma system.
Hallowed Concepts Survivors and Content
The update brings two new survivors to the roster. The Enforcer is available to all players by default, while the Acolyte requires a specific gameplay unlock. This expansion also includes several new items and modifiers to impact run variety:
- 14 new Hexes.
- 11 Hallowed Items.
- “The N’Tormat” Curio.
Karma System and New Skills
Players can now engage with the Karma system, an optional mechanic designed to increase the difficulty of the final encounter on the moon. Beyond the DLC survivors, six original characters have received additional unlockable skills. These include the “Sabotage” skill for Commando and “Laser Cyclone” for Huntress.
Balance Adjustments and Enemy Changes
Significant changes have been made to Stage 1 generation and specific enemy families to adjust the pace of early-game runs.
- Halcyon Shrines: The spawn chance on Stage 1 has been reduced to approximately 50%. These shrines now consume 40 stage spawn credits, which limits the number of other interactables that can appear on the same stage.
- Solus Family: Scorchers, Extractors, and Mines have had their armor stats reduced by 50%.
- The False Son: This boss has been adjusted to remove an unintended 1% critical-hit chance. Additionally, the tracking on the boss’s club slam attack has been reduced.
Fixes and Defensive Changes
The update addresses mechanical issues regarding how shields interact with high-damage hazards. A primary fix ensures that the Engineer’s Bubble Shield and the Operator’s Firewall now correctly block external explosions, including the Voidling’s laser attack.
