Diablo 4 Patch 3.2.3 (Build #73883), identified as Update 1.120 on PlayStation 5, was released on October 14, 2026. The update addresses a critical progression block and restores functionality to the Horadric Cube for several equipment affixes.
The official patch notes from Blizzard confirm that this release targets several bugs affecting bosses like Baal and the Countess.
Prime Evil Powers Quest-Lock Resolution
The primary fix in this update concerns a quest-lock that occurred when players used a Splinter of a Prime Evil before reaching the appropriate stage in the seasonal questline. This action previously prevented further progression and locked access to Prime Evil Powers for that character.
While Patch 3.2.3 prevents this issue from happening to new characters, it does not retroactively restore progression for characters already affected by the bug. To resolve the lock on an existing account, players must complete the seasonal questline on a new character within the same partition—Normal, Hardcore, or Solo Self-Found (SSF). Once the questline is completed on the new character, the Prime Evil Powers will unlock account-wide for other characters in that same partition.
Horadric Cube and Gear Affixes
Endgame gear optimization receives a correction with the restoration of Horadric Cube rerolling. Before this update, several affixes were failing to roll correctly. The Horadric Cube now properly re-rolls the following attributes:
- Critical Strike Damage
- Barrier Generation
- Impairment Reduction
- +Healing
The fix for Critical Strike Damage allows for precise rerolling that was previously unavailable for certain equipment slots.
Boss Encounters and Quest Fixes
Several adjustments have been made to boss encounters and world events to ensure smoother gameplay flow:
- Baal Encounter: Tyrael’s spawn location after the fight has been adjusted. Previously, Tyrael could spawn in a position that obstructed players from collecting loot dropped by Baal.
- The Countess: A collision issue in the Forgotten Tower has been resolved. The Countess can no longer pass through the fog wall, a bug that previously prevented players from completing the encounter if she moved out of bounds.
- Sandstone Golem: In the Horadric Library, the Sandstone Golem’s respawn logic has been fixed. The boss will now correctly respawn if the player dies during the fight.
- Necromancer Class Quest: In the “Call of the Underworld” quest, monsters will now correctly drop Unbroken Bones as intended, allowing players to progress through the class-specific storyline.
This update is live across PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. Players already in-game will need to restart their client to apply the changes and resume seasonal progression.
