The GuadaLAjara Film Festival in Los Angeles (GLAFF) has announced that producer Rodrigo Teixeira will be the recipient of its inaugural Árbol de la Vida Visionary Award. The honor will be presented during the festival’s 16th edition, which is scheduled to run from November 5 to 7, 2026.

The award ceremony, taking place on November 6, will be followed by a special screening of the crime thriller Paper Tiger, Teixeira’s latest collaboration with director James Gray. The presentation is expected to be a high-profile affair. Actor Wagner Moura won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama for The Secret Agent in January 2026.

Bridging Latin American and Global Cinema

Upcoming Release of ‘Paper Tiger’

The screening of Paper Tiger at GLAFF provides a preview of one of the year’s most anticipated dramatic releases. Directed by James Gray, the film features a high-caliber cast including Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, and Miles Teller. Following its festival showcase in Los Angeles, Neon is scheduled to bring the film to U.S. theaters for a limited release on November 13, 2026.

The collaboration between Teixeira and Gray is expected to continue beyond Paper Tiger. Reports indicate that the duo is already in development on their next project, a period piece currently slated to begin production in 2027. This continued partnership underscores Teixeira’s strategy of maintaining long-term relationships with auteur directors while expanding his reach within the Hollywood studio system.

The 16th edition of GLAFF will host its primary events across various Los Angeles venues, serving as a platform for Latin American stories to reach North American audiences and industry professionals alike.
