PUBG Update 1.027 Patch Notes: New Controller Presets and Lobby Changes

KRAFTON has released PUBG Update 1.027 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This patch, which went live on October 22, 2026, fundamentally changes the lobby experience for console players by removing the long-standing “Ready-up” requirement and introducing new controller presets designed to lower the barrier for new users.

Streamlined Lobby Matchmaking

The most significant change to the user experience in this update is the removal of the manual “Ready” status for teammates. Previously, every player in a squad had to mark themselves as ready before the host could begin matchmaking. Under the new system, matchmaking begins immediately when the party host selects the “Play” button. This shift significantly alters the flow of PUBG’s lobby, reducing wait times and preventing delays caused by inactive teammates.

New Controller Presets

Two new controller presets have been added to help players customize their input experience. The “PUBG Standard” and “Shooter Standard” presets are now available. These settings are intended to provide a more intuitive entry point into the game’s mechanics, though experienced players can stick with their existing custom configurations.

Vehicle and Gameplay Adjustments

The mechanics for Motor Gliders have been standardized to ensure more predictable gameplay across maps. Each map now contains six Motor Glider spawns, divided into two distinct categories:

  • Fixed-Location Spawns: Two gliders will spawn at specific locations and will come pre-fueled.
  • Random Spawns: Four gliders will appear at random locations without any fuel, requiring players to find a gas can before taking flight.

Additionally, communication tools have received a balance adjustment. World item markers are now restricted to a maximum visibility distance of 300 meters, preventing screen clutter during long-range engagements.

Custom Match and Customization

For players who host private sessions, Update 1.027 introduces new Custom Match tools according to UpdateCrazy. These include an explosion impulse multiplier, which can be adjusted from 0x to 10x to change how physics react to blasts, and a “Force End Match” option for hosts who need to terminate a session early.

The “Customize” menu has also been expanded to accommodate collectors. The number of Special Vehicle Skin slots has increased from three to seven. To manage this increase, a new radial selection menu has been implemented, allowing players to quickly choose between their different vehicle appearances before a match begins.
