Production for the third season of Taylor Sheridan’s oil-industry drama Landman is officially underway in North Texas. Following the conclusion of its second season earlier this year, Paramount+ confirmed on October 1, 2026, that filming has commenced in Fort Worth and surrounding areas.

The return to production was first signaled by actor James Jordan, a frequent collaborator in the Sheridan universe, who disclosed the start of filming via social media in late September. The new season arrives after a successful sophomore run that concluded in January 2026, which saw protagonist Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) exit M-Tex Oil to establish his own independent firm, CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle, alongside his father and son.

Filming at Bosque Ranch and Major Concert Scenes

A central hub for the Season 3 production is Taylor Sheridan’s own Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, Texas. While the ranch is a well-known filming location for other projects in the Sheridan catalog, it is being utilized here to facilitate a significant narrative expansion. Recent casting calls for early November 2026 indicate the production is seeking extras for large-scale concert sequences.

These scenes are expected to utilize the “Bosque Ranch Live” music platform, an initiative that showcases country music artists often featured in Sheridan’s soundtracks. According to local reporting from MyParisTexas, the production has been actively seeking musicians and concert-goers to fill out these high-profile sequences, suggesting that the culture of the modern oil boom will remain a central atmospheric element in the upcoming episodes.

Cast Promotions and New Antagonists

The third season will see a shift in the show’s core ensemble as four recurring cast members have been promoted to series regulars. This group includes Colm Feore, who portrays the veteran oilman Nathan, and Mustafa Speaks, who plays the character Boss. Joining them as regulars are Bobbi Salvör Menuez and Francesca Xuereb, signaling a deeper focus on the supporting characters established during the first two seasons.

Narrative stakes are also set to rise with the addition of Michael Kelly to the cast. Kelly will portray William Crockett, described as a titan of the global oil industry. Crockett’s introduction as a high-level power player suggests a potential rivalry with Tommy Norris’s burgeoning family-run firm, CTT Oil, as they attempt to navigate the volatile West Texas landscape independently of the larger corporations.

While an official release date has not been set by Paramount+, the current filming schedule in Fort Worth and Weatherford suggests a projected premiere for Landman Season 3 in 2027.
