A detailed summary of the 2019 box office

2019 was a profitable year. Taking advantage of the high nationalist sentiment, a bunch of films has garnered huge returns. It all started with all the guns. Uri: The Surgical Strike, on patriotic fervor, joined the 200 crore club in January. Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi, released soon after, was mired in controversy but raked 100 crores. Thackeray, very publicized, released the same day as Manikarnika, could only manage twenty crores. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga had a hake subject but limped at 20 crores. Gully Boy was the big winner in February, reaching 140 crores nationwide. “Apna time aayega” certainly sounded true to the team. Total Dhamaal zoomed in on the club by 150 crores despite the youthful content. In March, Sonchiriya, an extraordinary film in terms of content, collected 6.60 ridiculous crores. Kartik Aaryan was lucky again because his Luka Chuppi, released the same day as Sonchiriya, won around 100 crores nationwide. The Badla revenge drama collected about 100 crores. It was a big winner because it was budgeted around 22 crores. The big winner in March was also the war drama Kesari, earning more than 150 crores. April saw the controversial Romeo Akbar Walter earn about 40 crores. Kalank, released the same month, was a flop despite winning 80 crores, its high cost being an obstacle. Student Of The Year 2, also a Dharma production, released in May had a disappointing run, earning around 70 crores. The misogynist comedy, De De Pyar De, turned out to be a winner for Ajay Devgn. He raked in 100 crore plus. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to win big, but could only earn 20 crores more.

June started off in style with Bharat. Although he has amassed 200 crores, he is somewhere below expectations. Kabir Singh, released the same month, turned out to be the biggest hit in Shahid Kapoor’s career with a performance of 250 crore plus. The Super 30, released in July, marked the return of Hrithik Roshan, earning around 150 crores, while John Abraham’s patriotic Batla House, published on August 15, won around 90 crores. patriotism again. The educational drama Chhichhore started in September, making 150 crores. Dream Girl, released a week later, was another winner with around 140 crores. War, released on October 2, is the clear winner, zooming in on the club by 300 crores more. Housefull 4, released in late October, made around 190 crores despite the asinine content. Bala, with about 110 crores, was the big drop in November, making Ayushmann Khurrana’s seventh hit. Mardaani 2, Dabangg 3 and Good Newwz certainly ended the year on a positive note.
