A magnitude 5.6 earthquake hits northern Pakistan

An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck northern parts of Pakistan today, with no reports of loss of life or property. The Pakistan National Center of Seismology said the quake was monitored at a depth of 190 kilometers and its epicenter was 237 kilometers west of the Pakistani city of Chitral.

The earthquake was felt in the northwestern Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa e in some parts of Afghanistan.
