The agency added that the storms have led to the onset of breaks in the cables connecting the mines to their anchors. He warned that “mines drift randomly in the western part of the Black Sea, pushed by the wind and the current.”

Mezintsev added that Ukrainian authorities have accepted only three of the routes provided by Russia, noting that the Ukrainian side has requested an additional 11 humanitarian corridors in Kiev, Zaporozhye, Kherson and Kharkov.
