The latest ranking of the best universities in the world was published by the Times Higher Education, which shows that American universities have a lot of control over the rankings.
Despite American control, the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom was in tops the list, scoring 95.7 points, and is the university that partnered with AstraZeneca to develop a vaccine against the Corona virus.
Eight American universities dominated the ranking, the best of which was the California Institute of Technology, with a score of 95, followed by Harvard in third place with the same score.
Stanford University was fourth on the list with 94.9 points, while the second UK university to break the list was the prestigious University of Cambridge.
Institutions are classified in based on five indicators: teaching, research, citations, international perspectives and sector income.
On this basis, the UK and the US completely dominate in top of the list, with only one country represented in the top 15: Switzerland via ETH Zurich in 15th place.
