About 25 people in Sweden were brought in hospital after a powerful explosion in an apartment building in Gothenburg early Tuesday morning, the official radio SR reported.
For its part, the Swedish police said they had opened an investigation into the incident, but had no suspects at the moment.

Emergency services in the metropolitan region of Gothenburg said: “A number of apartments and stairs (in the building that were shaken by the blast) were damaged. It is not yet clear what caused the blast.”
A spokesperson for the emergency services also said that hundreds of people were evacuated from thearea of the explosion, while a spokesman for the Sahlgrenska University Hospital said that among those carried in hospital, three women were in serious conditions.
The direct cause of the explosion or fire was not immediately clear. Sweden has seen an increase in organized gang crime in recent years, as rival gangs use explosives and firearms to settle scores.
