The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards were hilarious and heartwarming photos of beings in being their best itself since 2015.

And this year is no exception. the recently announced winners and finalists of the 2021 competition include a visibly uncomfortable monkey, a threesome of gossip, raccoons, a happy bird reunion, gravity-defying fish and an all-powerful prairie dog.

AN panel of judges sort by thousands of submissions from both expert and novice photographers, and determines one winner for each of the different categories — except for the peoples’ choise award, that is left up to members of the public. the general winner gets a handmade one trophy from a workshop in Tanzania and a week-long Kenyan safari.

This year’Stop prize goes to Ken Jensen. His photo, taken in yunnan, china, shows a golden silk monkey in a rather uncomfortable position with an appropriate startled look on to be face.

The caption reads: “This is actually a show of aggression however in the position the monkey is in in it looks pretty painful!”

Another crowd favorite shows a pigeon with a flying leaf that covers the entire leaf face, caption “I think it’s summer overThe shot, by John Speirs, took home the people’s choice award.

Rahul Lakhmanic won the only video category with a video titled “Cuddle Best Friend After Lockdown.” In the, one bird lands expectantly on a branch while another dives towards it and hits them both out of the list. It is certainly a recognizable moment for a lot of people this year at.

The match is more then just a lust for the eye. It also is intended to make people aware of the importance of conservation.

“The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards grew out of the… need for a nature photography competition that was lighthearty, unpretentious and most importantly, could make a difference to animals and our wildlife world” reads his website. “The founders realized that laughter was a uniquely effective means of engaging the audience of all ages and cultures with Pictures of creatures die they may never be able to see for itself – and that the world could lose forever.”

Organizers Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE, Tom Sullam and Michelle Wood say they also donate 10% of their total net income to nature conservation organizations die endangered animals in protect wildlife. This year, proceeds go to the Gunung Palung Orangutan Conservation Program in Borneo.

Nature heals, as they say. But it still has a long way to go.
