A Sudanese man was killed by Ethiopian gunmen in a border attack

The Sudan Tribune newspaper reported that a Sudanese farmer was killed by Ethiopian gunmen on Wednesday, in an attack on the border in the east of the country.

The newspaper cited sources it described as “reliable” that Ethiopian gunmen penetrated 10 kilometers into Sudanese territory in the Atreb border area of Basanda locality in Gedaref state.

The newspaper indicated that the prosecutor’s office handed over the body of the deceased to his family.

The border problems represent an acute crisis between Sudan and Ethiopia.
