Adam Driver will host the first SNL episode of the year in 2020 according to a new Page Six report. Driver previously helped start SNL in the 44th season last year in September 2018.
In the December 21 episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Eddie Murphy, along with musical guest Lizzo, it was revealed that Mr. Driver would return to the series with Halsey as a musical guest on 25 January.
As subscribers to the series know, Halsey was on the series last year and was the host and musical guest in February. Driver recently completed production of Disney’s hit hit, Rise Of Skywalker, and is also receiving awards for her role in Marriage Story.
Coincidentally, Driver’s co-star on the series, Scarlett Johansson, was host to SNL last week. As noted in the title of the video, Driver will host SNL for the third time next year. It hosted the series for the first time during the 41st season.
Saturday Night Live has served as the backdrop for many stars of rise to fame in recent years, including Eddie Murphy, who has previously worked on the show. Eddie famously left the series at the height of his popularity.
According to a 3-day New York Post report, it was the first time Eddie had appeared on Saturday Night Live in 35 years. Earlier this month, he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in the film Dolemite Is My Name.
In addition, it has been reported by several outlets that he has several special offers on Netflix. This week, Murphy told Al Roker on Today that hosting SNL for the first time in 35 years could not have come at a better time for him.
“You almost think we planned it,” said Murphy. After a long hiatus in the entertainment industry, social media fans were delighted to have Mr. Murphy back in the spotlight.
