Aden A global strike of foreign exchange shops with the collapse of the Yemeni riyal

The Association of Exchangers in Yemen’s temporary capital, Aden, has announced a global strike, starting today, Wednesday, in all governorates, until further notice, to protest against the deterioration of the economic situation and the devaluation of the price of the riyal, which has reached historic levels against foreign currency.

In a statement, the association issued a directive to all companies and institutions in the banking sector to strike from today, Wednesday, until further notice, and attributed this to the circumstances and conditions that the country is going through due to the crisis. economic, and a deterioration of services that has devastated the life of the citizen.

He pointed out that the move has come in protest against the deterioration of the national currency, after having exhausted all means and made repeated appeals (to the government) to stop the economic deterioration without any meaningful response.

The decision coincides with popular demonstrations in Aden and Mukalla, to protest against the collapse of the local currency, the rise in prices and the deterioration of basic services.

Bank sources reported to Al Arabiya.net that the Yemeni riyal today, Wednesday, reached a new level, the lowest in history, recording 1,116 riyals for the sale of one dollar and 293 for the Saudi in Aden.
