Adrian Dunbar, 62, is best known for playing Ted Hastings in Line of Duty, which is set to bring its sixth season to an end tonight on the BBC. The star has been married to Australian actor Anna Nygh for 35 years, who he praised recently for being the only person who could “handle” him.
Adrian and Anna first met back in the 1980s when they were set up on a blind date.
The pair were paired up by mutual friend Joanne Whalley.
They tied the knot in 1986 and have a daughter together called Madeleine.
Adrian is also the step-father to Anna’s son Ted from a previous relationship.

Speaking on Radio 4 recently, Adrian opened up about how lucky he felt to meet Anna.
He said: “I don’t know anyone else I could have hooked up with who could have handled me.
“I’ve got my woman and she’s a very good one.”
The actor then added: “I wouldn’t let her down.”

Despite leading a private life outside of his starring Line of Duty role, Adrian has opened up on his marriage a number of times.
In another interview with the Daily Telegraph, Adrian said his wife “laughs” at his sex symbol status.
Speaking about the response to his character from female fans, he said: “Everyone likes a man in a uniform, don’t they?
“I was blindsided by that. I thought there would be a lot of things that would come off the back of this part, but definitely not being a sex symbol.

“Maybe it has to do with the fact Ted’s out there.
“There he is in his uniform, he has all this moral authority and I think that sometimes women like a challenge.”
He also opened up about Anna’s response to it, admitting she was “sanguine” about the attention.
Adrian continued: “She was an actress herself, so she realises it comes with the territory.
“She thinks it’s humorous. She gets a laugh out of it.”
He will be starring in the hugely-anticipated final episode of Line of Duty series six tonight.
This will see the drama of AC-12 come to a head as viewers are desperate to find out who the mysterious H is.
The synopsis of the final episode reads: “With time running out, AC-12 attempt to unmask ‘H’, the Fourth Man (or Woman) commanding the network of corrupt officers behind the murder of Gail Vella.
“But sinister and powerful forces appear intent on orchestrating a cover-up.”
Line of Duty airs at 9pm on BBC One tonight.
