Yaoundé-Cameroon: Burkina Faso booked their first ticket to the 2021 Africa Cup quarter-finals on Sunday after beating Gabon on penalties in a match whose original and overtime ended in a 1-1 draw. Burkina Faso advance first with a goal from Bertrand Traore in the 28th minute, before his Gabonese counterpart equalized on the cuff in the first minute of the game, time wasted by Adama Guarella. Burkina Faso won the qualification after a marathon penalty kick, which ended with 7 kicks, against 6 in Gabon. In the quarter-finals, Burkina Faso will face the winners of Tunisia and Nigeria.
