There was an attack on an oil tanker off the coast of Oman earlier this week, which US Central Command says was carried out using an Iranian-made drone.
Sources private revealed to Al-Hurra at the time that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard was behind the target of an oil tanker owned by Israeli businessmen off the coast of Oman.
The sources indicated on Wednesday that intelligence estimates indicate that the attack was most likely carried out by a “Shahed 136” drone, which is the same drone that Iran has supplied to Russia for use in its war against the Ukraine.
The Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping Company said the Pacific Zircon was hit by a shell about 150 miles off the coast of Oman, adding, “We are in contact with the ship and there are no reports of injuries or contamination”.
“There is some minor damage to the ship’s hull, but there are no fuel leaks or water infiltrations. Our priority is to ensure the safety of the crew and the ship,” said the company, owned by Israeli billionaire Aidan Ofer.
