AIAS Announces Winners of the 27th Annual DICE Awards | Spider-Man 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3 Take Home Top Honors

The 27th annual DICE Awards winners have been announced by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS). A total of 56 games from last year were nominated across 23 categories for the peer-juried awards show, which took place at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas.

The big winners of the night were Spider-Man 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3, with Spider-Man 2 winning six awards and Baldur’s Gate 3 winning five.

Spider-Man 2 was named Action Game of the Year and also won Outstanding Achievement awards for Animation, Character, Original Music Composition, Audio Design, and Technical Achievement. Baldur’s Gate 3 picked up the Game of the Year prize, was named Role-Playing Game of the Year, and won Outstanding Achievement awards across Story, Game Direction, and Game Design.

Other winners included The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Adventure Game of the Year, Alan Wake 2 for Art Direction, and Cocoon for the Independent Game award. Koji Kondo, a veteran Nintendo sound director, became the first composer to be inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame.

– Racing Game of the Year: Forza Motorsport
– Role-Playing Game of the Year: Baldur’s Gate 3
– Sports Game of the Year: MLB The Show 23
– Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year: Dune: Spice Wars
– Immersive Reality Game of the Year: Asgard’s Wrath 2
– Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game: Cocoon
– Mobile Game of the Year: What the Car?
– Online Game of the Year: Diablo IV
– Outstanding Achievement in Game Design: Baldur’s Gate 3
– Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction: Baldur’s Gate 3
