Al-Atiq: The positions of the Kingdom are firm and firm towards the Palestinian cause

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has said that its firm and firm positions towards the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people will not change by allowing international flights to cross the Kingdom’s airspace.

This is what emerges from the speech delivered by the Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the Kingdom to the Permanent Delegation of the Kingdom to the United Nations, Councilor Mohammed Al-Ateeq, before the UN Security Council in its session held yesterday under the title “The situation in Middle East, including the Palestinian question “.

He said: The Kingdom renews its position towards the Palestinian people and stresses the importance of one pace global and lasting in Middle East as a strategic option to end one of the longest and most complex historical conflicts in the contemporary world, based on the two -state resolution and in compliance with international references, and the pace 2002, which guarantees the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the end of the Israeli occupation of all Arab lands, including the Syrian Arab Golan and Lebanese lands.

He stressed that the Kingdom’s belief in the importance of strengthening regional and international cooperation to respond to these common and renewed challenges facing the region and the world and to create an opportunity to reach a region of pace and prosperity while preserving Arab harmony, the Kingdom hosted the “Jeddah Summit for Security and Development” on July 16, with the participation of leaders from numerous countries in the region, underlining in this regard the broad regional and international reception for the results of the summit.

Al-Atiq highlighted the Kingdom’s firm and supportive position for all that guarantees the security and stability of the Republic of Yemen and realizes the aspirations of the fraternal Yemeni people, commending the efforts of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen , Hans Grundberg, in strengthening the commitment to the current truce promoted by the United Nations and seeking to extend it for the second time. In line with the Kingdom initiative announced in March 2021 to end the crisis in Yemen and reaching a global political solution, and the need for Houthi militias to respect the truce, stop exploiting the suffering of right-wing civilians and open humanitarian corridors in Taiz.

He stressed the importance of keeping the Arabian Gulf region free from weapons of mass destruction and the importance of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency in tale regard, underlining the importance of strengthening regional and international efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, preventing the financing, arming and recruiting of terrorist groups by some countries in the region and addressing all activities that threaten security and stability of the region.

The interim chargé d’affaires in the Kingdom’s permanent delegation to the United Nations expressed condemnation and denunciation of the Kingdom’s attack on the sister Republic of Iraq, which targeted the Dohuk governorate in northern Iraq , underlining its support for the government of Iraq and its fraternal people in the face of challenges that threaten its security and territorial integrity.
