Al-Hajraf discusses strengthening relations between the Cooperation Council and the European Union

The Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States, Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, stressed the importance of relations between the Cooperation Council and the European Union and the need to support and develop them to achieve objectives common interests.

This is what emerges in a declaration in the occasion of his official visit to the EU headquarters in the Belgian capital, Brussels, during which he will meet some senior EU officials.

He expressed his aspiration that the visit will contribute to strengthening Gulf Europe relations, based on the importance of the Cooperation Council and the European Union in strengthening regional and international security and stability, especially in the light of a number of of challenges facing the world.

Dr. Al-Hajraf explained that the visit will include a discussion on aspects of cooperation in areas of common interest, an exchange of views on regional issues and political developments, as well as issues relating to relations between the Cooperation Council and the European Union, and the importance of strengthening and developing economic and investment relations and to work to seize the opportunities available, especially as regards the traces of the free trade agreement between the two parties.
