Saudi side Al-Hilal will meet their Iranian counterpart Al-Istiklal in the 16th round of the AFC Champions League tomorrow at the Zabeel Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.
Al-Hilal qualified for the round in course after finishing second in the first group he hosted in Riyadh with 10 points in 6 games, while Al-Istiklal qualified to lead the third group with 11 points in 6 matches.
Al Hilal was not at his best during the group stage which was held last April, and only qualified after the end of the second round matches among the top three teams finishing second out of five West Asian groups, and their ranks are given the absence of nationals Abdullah Atif, injured during his participation with the national team, and Mohamed Kno due to the accumulation of cards, the club he also made changes to the foreign names that will participate with him in the tournament including the new duo, “Mali” Moussa Marega and “Brazilian” Matthews Pereira, along with “French” Bafetimbi Gomez and “South Korean” Jang Hyun Soo.
On the other hand, Istiklal is missing some of its players who have moved in others club, led by Mahdi Qaidi, who moved to Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, but attracted a number of players to make up for absences.
