Al-Sisi: Climate change is the biggest challenge in the world and there is no room to back off from implementing commitments

In a keynote address at the COP27 climate conference, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said that time is running out for the world and there is no room to back down from implementing climate commitments, as the conference results on climate help transform in better the lives of millions of people.

“Climate change is the biggest challenge in the world today and millions of people put it in discussion of the climate commitments and the objectives that have been achieved, and the human suffering due to climate change is recurring and confirms the urgent need to put an end to it “, added Sisi.

He pointed out that the countries in via development suffer more than others due to the current climate crisis, while work needs to be done to reduce global warming by 3 degrees.

Al-Sisi called on developed countries to honor their commitments to offset the losses due to climate change.

The activities of the COP27 climate summit began today, Monday, at the presidential level, in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Egypt yesterday took over the presidency of the summit from the United Kingdom, while activities will continue until 18 November.
