Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will begin a visit tomorrow, Wednesday in India, where he will meet entrepreneurs and be a guest of honor on Indian Republic Day, which falls on 26 January.
A statement from the Egyptian presidency said the visit would include talks on strengthening economic relations between the two countries and reviewing Indian investment opportunities in Egypt.
Cairo is trying to mobilize foreign investment in one moment in which is trying to deal with a shortage of dollars which has led to a sharp decline in the value of the pound.
Last year, Egypt asked the Gulf states and the International Monetary Fund for help after the economic fallout from the war in Ukraine have exacerbated its challenges.
Egypt is also seeking to establish political and trade relations beyond its traditional alliances with the United States and European powers, including in sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia.
