Al-Soumi: The words of the leaders at the “Jeddah Summit” provided an accurate diagnosis of what the region is going through

The President of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asumi, expressed the welcome of the Arab Parliament to the results of the Jeddah Summit for Security and Development hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the participation of the countries of the Cooperation Council of the Gulf, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and the United States of America.

In a press release released this evening, Al-Soumi stressed the importance of this summit in strengthening relations between Arab countries and the United States of America and opening new horizons of coordination and joint cooperation to face economic and of security witnessed by the Arab region, in order to preserve security and stability in the region and ensure a better future for current generations and future.

Al-Soumi expressed the Arab parliament’s full support for all Arab and international efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region, noting that the holding of the summit under the title of security and development reflects the delicate situation facing the region and its urgent need to achieve security and stability, while at the same time pursuing development efforts, especially in light of the current global economic crisis and its intertwined repercussions on Arab countries.

The president of the Arab parliament praised the contents of the speeches made by leaders and representatives of Arab countries during this summit, which provided an accurate diagnosis of the crises the region is going through and the challenges it faces.

He stressed that the vocabulary of the final statement issued by the summit included many pressing issues in security and development, expressing the Arab parliament’s aspiration that the results of this summit would contribute to the development of non-traditional solutions to the intertwined challenges facing the Arab region.

The President of the Arab Parliament appreciated the tireless efforts of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Keeper of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense – may God preserve them – for the success of this summit, which reflects the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Arab, regional and international levels.
