Jewish Week is here, and it’s not much better than the annual meeting between Alabama and Auburn at the Iron Bowl.

The Crimson Tide and Tigers meet on Saturday with teams 5 and 16 respectively. Alabama (10-1, 6-1 SEC) still has an outside chance to make the Academy Football Playoff with backup quarterback Mac Jones, but Auburn (8-3, 4-3) would love nothing better from playing spoilers at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Jones was effective in replacing Tua Tagovailoa, who was lost in a season-long injury against the Mississippi State. In two starts this season, he has completed 28 of 34 passes for 510 yards and six touchdown passes. (All Hours East)

3:48 pm: Najee Harris gets two wickets to start the day, netting Alabama one down first. He will probably get a lot of what he carries today.

3:44 pm: The game plays as it is called in the race, though it looks like a trap. Nix’s poix punt goes to the end zone and Alabama takes over at 20. It’s time to see what Mac Jones can do for Alabama.

3:43 pm: Auburn is a revised game away from another long overdue by Nix. The Tigers will have a new series of falls just off the 20-yard line of Alabama if the game reverses.

3:40 pm: Auburn is already at midfield with two finishes of 13 and 20 yards from Bo Nix. Great start for the Tigers.

3:28 pm: Regardless of your affiliation with this rivalry, this is undoubtedly one of the coolest college football traditions. We’re almost ready for kickoff.
