The organization’s US expert, Sumit Bhattacharya, told the dpa in Washington that the camp symbolizes tyranny, injustice and torture.

Bhattacharya urged President Biden to close the camp and bring those involved to justice in torture or illegal activity The camp is said to contain 39 inmates.

It was established during the reign of former Republican President George Bush Jr. to detain suspects without trial following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.
