Wealth management company Vanguard Group offered $ 1,000 to employees vaccinated against the coronavirus before October.
“We are offering a vaccine incentive to anyone who supplies it prove vaccination against COVID-19, “a company spokesperson said in a declaration via e-mail.
The incentives come despite Vanguard’s adoption of a hybrid model that combines home and office work, allowing most employees to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
BlackRock, Vanguard’s biggest rival and the largest wealth manager in the world, recently changed its plans, banning unvaccinated employees from entering US offices since July. Workers at the New York-based company were asked to report vaccination status by the end of June.
And in the home state of Vanguard, Pennsylvania, about 53 percent of people have been fully vaccinated, according to Bloomberg Immunization Trackers.
