Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl was fined £ 20,000 (approximately $ 27,000) by the English Football Association (FA) for comments against the assistant referee video (VAR) during the defeat to Chelsea this month.
Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse received a direct red card against Chelsea in Premier League, although he had initially received a yellow card after a strong contrast against Jorginho.
Hasenhuttl was not happy when referee Martin Atkinson went to a sidescreen of the pitch to review the shot and make the decision to send him off.
The FA tweeted: “Southampton’s Ralph Hasenhuttl was fined £ 20,000 for violating an FA regulation relating to the Premier League match against Chelsea on 2 October 2021.”
Southampton are 15th with seven points in eight games, and hosts Burnley, who are 18th, on Saturday.
