When were you offered to spar? with Anthony Joshua?
We first was offered to come over and join AJ’s sparring camp – probably about a month ago.
Limitations and the timing was not great in Australia, especially for mine coach. He planned to come over, but there was no guarantee of to get back the country in. that is how strict it is.
You have since moved your career in Britain?
we quite a lot made the decision a few of weeks ago. Let’s settle, let’s base over in the UK.
Nothing happens in Australia. I literally had two fights in almost two years. I can’t defend my titles. I can’t get a worthy opponents in Australia to defend the titles against.
New-one is even allowedin the country around fight. l made the decision to quite a lot head overseas and base myself over in the United Kingdom where spruce is abundant.
And now you’re going to spar Joshua?
I am up in Sheffield for the next two weeks, joining AJ’s training camp.
Did some training yesterday afternoon. he was there, met him, had a little of a talk. A sweet guy. we have our first spruce up today. I’m watching forward on that. It will be a good experience.
He is the greatest name in boxing in the world currently, in all weight classes, let alone heavyweight. To be in there and to gauge myself against the number 1 man in the heavyweight division, that’s huge for me.
A real good experience. It was good to train next to him and it gets even better to trade what punches with him very briefly.
What are your strengths as a heavyweight contender?
I consider myself a technical fighter. l like be nice and sharp. i’m quite fast and explosive for a heavyweight. Those are definitely my strengths. l like for my . to show speed.
When do you make your VK? debut?
Goods in talk for An fight before the end of the year. I think we might be looking at December sometime.
Will you want until fight a British rival in the near future?
Being world-rated, I would like to do fight each one of the top 15 guys also.
There are some of big names die to take shape, but I don’t think right away. i think she want to get my name out there, grab a little of exposure up and get a few of big fought battles up.
Can you give us a hint?
One is from New Zealand and one is from UK I will just say that.
I think that’s what everyone wants to see [a Joseph Parker fight]. A trans Tasman battle is it not.
We were in speaks a while ago over a potential fight. Due to Covid – he is clearly training in New Zealand – we were nice of limited from the rest of the world.
Which one watched like it started to take shape a little, but I think they just need to get my name out there, get some exposure a bit more.
you are linked with an IBF final eliminator against Philip Hrgovic?
So that was in also talk to exploit that potential fight, but clear with the limitations and with my coaches come abroad, it made it’s bad hard to be able to get back the country in, mostly with mine coach, who has other world-rated fighters, has a family, has a business until run also.
i have another one path and others plans. Now we are based in the UK that’s for sure [a fight that can happen]. He’s pretty highrated now, so that’s definitely one fight that could be so made in the future, for sure.
can a world title fight to happen soon?
Opportunities arise. once you are in the top 15, you can get one world title shot call-up at all times.
Who knows? Now I am in the UK, if Usyk decides to break a leg of so then i will become in the Anthony Joshua hurled fight, want i am a left handed and i am the top 15 in the world. He is preparing for a south leg. That’s one more chance die could occur in that feeling.
Injuries happen, things happen, illnesses happen, some people getting late call-up. you must be nice of stay ready and be ready, and be in a position to die to engage in battles. Everything can happen.
Can you become the Australian? next world champion?
I’m definitely the man to do it. The only world-rated heavyweight in Australia currently, 19-0, No 11 with the WBO and IBF.
Another fight, we will be in the top 10 for sure and then something comes big names on the list.
