Apex Legends released a minor update, version 1.59, on February 22nd that fixed some of the broken skin textures for characters as well as some other stability fixes.
Since the end of season eight, players in Apex Legends have had a number of frustrating issues, nothing more than the dreaded “infinite load screen” preventing players from logging in.
The only workaround for this currently seems to be to completely reset your system, which is far from ideal. Unfortunately, this latest patch, 1.59, doesn’t fix this issue yet, but developers are still investigating the issue.
Shortly after the 1.59 update, Respawn confirmed that the Anniversary Collection event, which was originally supposed to end on February 23, will also be extended. It now runs until March 2nd.
We heard that some of you may need more time to collect all of your anniversary rewards. ????
In the spirit of celebration, we will continue the party for another week. The Anniversary Collection Event will now stay open through March 2 at 10 a.m. PT. pic.twitter.com/uZwtBvL149

Fixed missing skin structures
The main purpose of the 1.59 update in Apex Legends was to fix the broken skins that players had seen in the first person view. This bug affected skins with Bloodhound, Loba, Lifeline, and more.

Although the skins looked perfectly normal to everyone else, the character’s hands appeared just plain gray in the first person.
Other than that, there wasn’t much to discover in this update. Respawn say the only other improvements were some “stability fixes”.
Apex Legends 1.59 update patch notes
- Fixed several character skins with gray, unstructured hand models on consoles
- Several stability fixes.
The developers found that they were still investigating login errors. Other errors that the Trello board is investigating include missing red dots, an increase in slow-motion servers, and even a rare bug where players lose all of their cosmetics.
There is also an increase in players reporting an issue preventing them from looting death boxes.
We will keep you informed of fixes for these issues that should appear in a future update.
