Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon – A New Surprise from FromSoftware
Even if the Elden Ring DLC was not finally revealed during the Summer Game Fest, the studio FromSoftware has another surprise for us: Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, scheduled for August 25 on PC, PS4, PS5, One and Xbox Series… A series that has long been the team’s heyday, long before the monster success of Dark Souls, and which has nothing to do with the famous action-RPG. Here it’s about building a mecha and battling robots in the distant future. Want to see what it looks like? It falls, the Japanese media brings us a sequence of gameplay.
An Elden Ring in the future?
After a first gameplay trailer unveiled last April, this is the first time that FromSoftware’s new baby has let himself be approached in a raw video… For a little over four minutes, we have a glimpse of one of the levels of this Armored Core 6 – whose scale has nothing to envy to Elden Ring – battles and even the interface to customize son mecha. A last central point to the series and to this new episode – where it will be necessary to adapt son equipment according to the abilities of the opponents. In the video, a brief change of the robot’s legs allows it to be much faster. This seems to be the key face At boss which concludes the presentation.
Recently, on the sidelines of this gift, Armored Core 6 also arrived in the hands of several editors. The site notes for example a “fierce, fast” game, drawing on the best of the series’ past and the “refined” combat whose studio has the secret. In an interview that we were able to do in April 2023, Kenneth Chan, executive producer on the project, explained to us that this episode carries “the philosophy of game design recent action games, like Dark Souls”.
