Arsenal-Liverpool match postponed

The English Football Association has announced the postponement of the match Arsenal v Liverpool, in program tomorrow, Thursday, at the Emirates Stadium, in the first leg of the League Cup semi-finals.

The postponement of the match arrived at the request of Liverpool to the English Club Association, yesterday, Tuesday, after having canceled training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, in preparation for the “Carabao Cup” competition, in light of the contagion of some of his players with the new Corona virus, as well as his German coach, Jurgen Klopp and his assistant Pep. Leanders.

And the English Clubs Association stated in a statement on his official website today Wednesday that he accepted Liverpool’s request after examining all the circumstances in the past 48 hours.

The League has indicated that the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals will be played on Thursday 13 January at Anfield Stadium, with the return match at Emirates Stadium on the 20th of the same month.

This postponement is an extension of postponements seen in English Premier League competitions in recent times, in light of the spread of the Corona virus.
