The Asian Football Confederation has welcomed FIFA’s plan to organize the World Cup every two years.
On the other hand, the Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) has confirmed that it is open to the idea of organizing the World Cup every two years, noting that it provides a more balanced structure for the game globally.
CONCACAF recognized the benefits of a new football schedule if it includes fewer transfer periods, fewer travel and more official matches rather than friendly matches.
The FIFA Council voted in favor of making one studio of feasibility on the possibility of organizing the men’s and women’s World Cup every two years instead of four years.
The proposal met with strong opposition, with the European Union “UEFA” rejecting it, while the South American Federation “CONMEBOL” criticized it, saying the idea would not work.
The Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean, CONCACAF, has been open to the idea, provided it provides a more balanced framework for the game globally.
