Game of Talents presenter Vernon Kay, 47, has taken to Twitter to aim a cheeky jibe at Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke, 54, after it was announced that he will appear on the show’s judging panel this year. The husband of model and Strictly host Tess Daly aimed a blow at the dance pro who has yet to win the coveted Glitterball trophy, as it was revealed that he will be taking over judging duties from Italian dancer Bruno Tonioli.

Earlier today, the official Strictly Twitter account announced the line up of judges for this year’s show.
They penned: “It’s the judges!
“Please welcome back to Strictly, Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse AND Anton Du Beke, who’ll be stepping into Bruno Tonioli’s shoes for 2021!”
Confirming the news, Anton retweeted the post.

Amidst all the comments congratulating the dance pro on his career move, there was one person who couldn’t help but tease Anton over his new role.
Commenting on the post, former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Vernon Kay mocked the star for his place on the BBC show’s judging panel.
“At least you’ll definitely be in the final,” he wrote, followed by laughing face and heart emojis.

Anton has appeared as a dance professional on all 18 series of the show.
Last year, the star finished in 12th place with former politician Jacqui Smith and the couple were the first pairing to leave the dance floor.
Despite appearing on every series, the star has yet to win the show, coming a close second in 2019 with partner Emma Barton.
One person who didn’t waste any time in congratulating the star on his new role was former Strictly dancer James Jordan.

He posted on Twitter: “Congratulations to my mate @TheAntonDuBeke on becoming a judge on #strictly
“About b****y time!!” he added enthusiastically.
Responding to a now-deleted tweet from the dance professional, James applauded the move as what “most Strictly fans wanted”.
He wrote: “About time my friend!!! Not only what you wanted but also most Strictly fans including myself.
“You will be b****y brilliant,” he finished, followed by a heart emoji.
Anton’s co-star Oti Mabuse also chimed in, saying that she is “super proud” of her friend for his career move.
“He made it! JUDGE @mrantondubeke,” Oti wrote on Instagram today, followed by a string of red hearts.
“Super proud of you Anton and so happy!
“Feels like positivity is in the air – everyone gets what they’ve wanted and hoped for for years and it’s a beautiful sight to see with the @bbcstrictly first @jmanrara now @mrantondubeke nothing but joy and pride for both of you,” she added.
